Notre Dame was originally founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur in 1865 but is now a company with charitable status and a completely seperate establishment from Notre Dame High School. The aim of the fully qualified headmistress and staff is to develop a sound moral training and to promote the intellectual, social and physical qualities of each child in a secure and happy atmosphere.
The curriculum includes English, Maths, History, Geography, Science, French, Music, Art, Craft, Religious Education, Physical Education and Computer Studies. Optional subjects are elocution, ballet, recorder and swimming.
The Headmistress and staff work in collaboration with parents, helping the children towards a growing understanding of the world and of their responsibilities towards other people.
